Position Purpose

We’re looking for a pro-active System Administrator who has relevant experience to monitor, troubleshoot, and manage our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this position should prioritize critical tasks and collaborate with the teams and vendors to resolve and find solutions. We’re interested in automating as many of our processes as possible to reduce the potential for human errors.

Primary Responsibility

  • Managing and monitoring the reliable delivery and performance of core systems to agreed business-as-usual standards
  • Managing the day-to-day prioritization and co-ordination of tasks within the IT Support team, delegating appropriately in line with staff skills and experience
  • Acting as an escalation point providing sufficient levels of technical know-how to assist in root cause identification and permanent resolution of issues
  • Raising and communicate effectively incidents and resolution plans with third party vendors and service providers
  • Following and manage staff adherence to policies, procedures and frameworks, in particular ensuring effective and efficient incident, problem and change management
  • Proactively seek out new and innovative solutions to deliver efficient and cost-effective systems to meet evolving business needs
  • Assist in the developing and maintaining policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Day to day management of the IT Administration team ensuring work is delivered within deadlines and to the required quality
  • Coordinate and manage security controls (including means of identification and authentication)

Skills

  • 5 years of work experience as a Systems Administrator preferably with supervisory or management experience in the role
  • Hands-on experience with LAN and WAN networks as well as a good understanding of network switches
  • Good understanding of system security and different techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to break down problems from the root cause
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with users of all levels and explain complex technical information into simple and understandable terms
  • Great leadership abilities with experience of managing/supervising a small team
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify trends and patterns.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
