CSR

     At Brickwork India, Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) is integral to everything we do that impacts our stakeholders including employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, and local communities. We want to build a socially responsible corporate culture by providing avenues for our employees to do good for others. Brickwork Pragathi Foundation (Foundation) is our partner for all our community development initiatives. The foundation focusses mainly on improving the quality of education in rural government schools and promoting awareness programs on the importance of preserving and protecting Lakes.

                 We  have  committed  to  many community  activities  since 2009  under  the  leadership  of  our                     CEO Sangeeta Kulkarni.

Improving the quality of education in Rural Education schools

The foundation adopted 1 Anganvadi and 1 Higher Primary school in Shirali, Bhatkal Taluka, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. The objective was to make these schools model schools and increase their enrolment by developing students into confident and smart future citizens through practical computer education, spoken English training, Science and Math labs and numerous extracurricular activities. The foundation embarked on a “Whole School Transformation” project, with improved infrastructure and education quality and holistic development of the students. The foundation provides the child all required support such as a joyful and stimulating learning environment, infrastructure, health and safety, Stakeholder management, mentors for personality development and improving oral communication skills

Within 6 months of our initiative, the students put up an annual day with an English play and other English cultural programmes. We are also helping one Government Aided High School, Salemane HP School, Janata Vdyalaya, Shirali Govt Primary School in Shirali.

Environment

Reefwatch program: Supported 90 school kids in the ‘Budding Naturalists’ programme since last 3 years in Andaman Islands. Students are taken out on frequent excursions to understand: Various ecosystems, observe patterns in nature, make illustrations, learn swimming. They are acquainted with marine life: Influence of temperature, changes in Plants due to seasons, changes in animal behaviour due to seasonal change.

Echolocation in whales, Intelligence of octopus, Training on Emergency First Response, use of microscope etc.

Madiwala Lake Development: Promoting awareness and education on environment and ecological perseveration at Madiwala Lake, in association of WWF and Karnataka forest department.
